Wern-Jhien focuses on international commercial and financial disputes, and contentious insolvencies. As a board member and Fellow of INSOL International, Wern-Jhien has handled significant cross-border insolvency cases under the UNCITRAL Model Law. In Re Fullerton Capital Ltd (in liquidation), he addressed novel issues on the Centre of Main Interests (COMI) and disclosure applications against non-parties. He has appeared at all levels of the Singapore courts, including the Singapore International Commercial Court, and regularly acts in international arbitrations, particularly in blockchain-related disputes.
