James is an experienced litigation lawyer whose legal career in Hong Kong spans over three decades. His association with Denis Chang’s Chambers goes back to 1993, when he served as a summer pupil in the chambers. The focus of his practice is insolvency and restructuring, commercial litigation, matrimonial finance and arbitration. He is licensed to practice in Hong Kong, England, and the British Virgin Islands, and he has extensive cross-border experience in jurisdictions as far-flung as Jersey, the Cayman Islands, Indonesia and Mauritius. Prior to transferring to the Bar in 2019, he was a Solicitor Advocate and Partner of Lipman Karas (as the firm was then know). James is recommended in both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500.
